You have goals.
You have a general idea of what you need to do to get to those goals.
Most of them consist of eating clean, working out, getting your steps in each day, and maybe doing some yoga or other form of activity.
I love It! All these things are awesome, but what about all the “boring stuff”?
What about all the things we say we “know” the benefits of but don’t make a priority?
We all know how much of an impact sleep has, not just on our body, but on our mental state as well. The same thing goes for hydration. It is widely agreed that more hydration WILL help our bodies in a positive way.
But even with that they don’t seem to be a priority.
I feel as if we have almost undervalued these things as options to help us along the way. Because we all think we know how beneficial they are, we just throw the terms around vaguely instead of making them a true focus.
“Workout 3 days per week, go on a walk everyday, oh yeah, and get good sleep”
It’s too general. We need real goals, just like we set with our workouts and our food plans. Take a closer look at the “boring” stuff in your life– Sleep, hydration, stress management, rest & recovery.
How well are you handling these things? How much better could they be if you put real focus into them and worked hard to make each one just a tad bit better?
You WILL NOT be disappointed if you put time and energy into improving each one of these areas. They will surprise you how much of an effect they can really have.
In good health,
Jeff
