Priorities

Every decision we make has some priority linked to it.

We have to know where our priorities stand in order to make our decisions. Things may be blurred but what we choose more often will be what we prioritize at that moment.

If we want to make more money but also want more time off, then whichever one has the priority will be the option.

This is always the case when It comes to fitness. Now I am not saying this to try to get people to only prioritize fitness and everything else takes a back seat. What is being said is the fact of figuring out what we WANT and what we can MAKE WORK.

One of the biggest problems I see is, in order to add something that takes a lot of commitment into your life (i.e. Fitness), something else might need to be set back on that list.

If you love going out on Friday and Saturday nights but those are the only two days you can get into the gym, which one is prioritized higher? There is no right or wrong answer here, if we prioritize socializing with friends then that is not a problem, we just can’t expect to be in the best shape of our lives if we can’t get a workout in every week.

When It comes to health and fitness, the reason things can be so hard is due to how much effort goes into seeing results. If we move our schedules around to make It in the gym three days a week but don’t prioritize nutrition and sleep, the results won’t be there.

And this is where we need to be honest with ourselves. Expectations cannot be set too high if the activities to get us there aren’t high on our priority list. It’s like expecting to start a successful snow plowing company but wanting to live in Florida.

The three main things that will have a HUGE impact on your success on your health and fitness goals will be to prioritize:

1. Your schedule to exercise on a consistent basis

2. Your sleep every night

3. Your nutrition to eat the highest quality of food

Manage your expectations of what you can commit to.

Priorities are needed. Our actions follow those priorities and show the truth of what is truly our wants/needs. If something is important enough to you, It will make the top of that list.

In good health,

Jeff
