The Absolute Best Pre-Workout Supplement

Right now the supplement industry, specifically pre-workout, is on an increasingly high run. These products are marketed as supplements that will increase performance, strength, and endurance but have very little substance to back up their claims. They are also made to be highly palatable with unique and processed flavorings. One other thing these products do very well is associate gym-readiness with the necessity of having a “boost” to have a good workout. Once this is enacted up each time someone is going to exercise it is hard to break that relationship. This does not mean that all pre workout supplements are made this way, there are some very high quality products, but there are also many more that are made poorly.

Lets start off by looking more in detail why some of these supplements aren’t at the top of the list. The main issue with pre workout supplements is that many of these products do use ingredients that are tied in with increased performance, the problem with this is they are mixed together in a proprietary blend and do not provide adequate dosing of these ingredients. These proprietary blends are able to hide the amount of certain ingredients by smothering it with other less effecting fillers creating a cheaper product and higher margin for the company. A secondary issue with these things are the negative effects of them. They are made to have someone hooked on them so they take it before each and every workout. This means that the effects the supplement may have had at the beginning starts to wear off over time as a person adapts to the specific ingredients. This also means that a workout without the product will feel sluggish and weak.

SO WHAT IS THE BEST PRE-WORKOUT?

The best pre-workout supplement, that have proven long-lasting benefits both in and out of the gym is COFFEE. Coffee is able to increase energy, improve endurance, reduce muscle pain, AND BURN MORE FAT! The main attributor to these benefits is the way coffee has our body’s using energy. Studies show that when using coffee prior to a workout our body switches from using glycogen as fuel to using fat as fuel. This makes it easier for our muscles to burn fat for fuel giving us that prolonged energy for the entirety of a workout.

  1. Improve Endurance
  2. Decrease Muscle Pain
  3. Burn More Fat

These three things have been proven to work with the supplementation of coffee before a workout. Just like with everything in life we do not want to overdue it with the amount of coffee, so know your limits! Also try and cycle on and off coffee for weeks at a time to keep its effects working optimally for your body!
